I support our country’s veterans. Veteran benefits and services too often fall short of meeting the needs of veterans and their families. Veterans oftentimes struggle to meet their basic needs. About 4 Million veterans live from paycheck to paycheck. Many veteran families live on less than $50,000 a year. About 20 veterans commit suicide every day. Additionally Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the department that provides many veterans health care to include suicide prevention, consistently has struggles under poor management.
To assist our veterans is not the job of one political party. When it comes to veterans issues, I am committed to working across the aisle to ensure that veterans get their fair share. My bottom line – We need to take care of our veterans.
